Yo Gabba Gabba!

Braeden has been enjoying Sesame Street for a while but today he is mesmerized by Yo Gabba Gabba! on Nick Jr.  I’ve heard good things about it and so far it looks like a good kids show. I think we’ll add this one to the DVR for him.

Beach Baby

Braeden’s first trip to the beach…

Kari and I took Braeden to North Avenue Beach in Chicago to play some volleyball. Okay, so Braeden didn’t play any volleyball but Kari and I did. We took turns playing and protecting Braeden from stray volleyballs. Kari played great! And I… well, I’m a bit out of shape and hurt my back diving for a ball.

Project Manager For Hire

I lost my job today. I wasn’t really surprised. I had heard on WGN News a few weeks ago that CPS planned to layoff over 500 people in my office. Being a project manager without a project assigned to me, I expected to be let go.

Although I was prepared to begin looking for another job, I was not prepared to leave CPS. I truly loved working there. Sure it was frustrating at times, and leading IMPACT led to some serious stress-related health problems, but I enjoyed it. The people there are great. I’m going to miss them, and I hope to keep in touch with as many of them as possible.

My resume is updated and ready to go. If you know of any project manager openings, please let me know!

iPhone Blogging

Is the iPhone the greatest invention of the 21st century? If this works, I think so. I’m using the Wordpress app to write this post on my iPhone. It allows me to write and save local drafts without having to use the Internet. I only need it when accessing the blog itself such as when publishing.

I’m testing out some functionality, like pictures, so enjoy Braeden napping after his bath and feeding.

IVs, pitocin, and epidurals, Oh MY!

After 35 hours of contractions the pain got unbearable, so we headed to triage at 2:30am. I was admitted, given an epidural around 4am, and pitocin around 5:30am. I’ve never been hooked up to so many machines and had so many tubes going in and out of me.

Now we’re just waiting, but at least I’m not going out of my mind in pain. My doctor will be here soon to check progress. Good thing, because the resident that has been checking on me looks like my friend, Ben, and that’s just creepy.

Both grandmas are here and excited for things to get moving!
